How it can be used
Load the disc and let it run independently on a large screen in a lounge setting, or take control of the pacing during a structured quiz group session. There is no voiceover — the group leader reads each question aloud, which allows for pausing, repeating, and adjusting to the group’s pace. Residents can participate individually, in pairs, or as teams.
Each disc includes the following:
- Video clips — classic movies, old-time songs, and world events
- Audio clips — mystery voices, musical groups, and TV themes
- Image-based questions covering sport, geography, history, and general knowledge
- True or false and multiple choice question formats
- A 20-second countdown clock followed by the on-screen answer
- Occasional humorous slides included throughout each disc
- Lounge group session: Load the disc on a large screen TV and let it run without interruption. Residents call out answers informally as the countdown clock counts down.
- Structured quiz competition: Pause after each question, allow residents to write or call out answers, then resume for the reveal. Tally scores across teams or individuals.
- Pairs activity: Seat residents in pairs and have them discuss and agree on an answer before the clock runs out — encourages conversation and recall.
- Staff-led small group: Use the no-voiceover format to let a staff member or volunteer host the session, adding commentary or prompts between questions to extend engagement.
