Some games get people talking straight away. This one usually does.
Famous Actors Guess Who is a simple, familiar-style guessing game that invites laughter, storytelling, and those “I know them… what were they in?” moments. It is suitable for people living with dementia and anyone who enjoys gentle, achievable activities with a social twist.
Play is flexible. You can keep it quick with a few cards, or slow it down and let the conversation do the work.
How to play
- Choose an actor card and show the picture or read the clue aloud.
- Players guess the actor’s name, or share what they remember about their films.
- There are no wrong answers – the goal is connection, not perfection.
Why it works well in care settings
- Encourages conversation and reminiscence without pressure
- Works well for 2+ players in a group, or as a one-to-one activity
- Easy to adapt for different confidence and cognitive levels
Movie memories round
After each guess, invite a quick follow-up: “What film do you remember them from?” or “Did you ever watch their movies at the cinema?” Even a short answer is a win.
Clue-only challenge
Read the clue without showing the image first. If it feels too tricky, reveal the card and turn it into a conversation starter instead.
