How to play
Players move around the board and draw conversation cards that prompt them to talk about their life, from childhood memories through to present-day thoughts and future wishes. The focus is on sharing rather than competing, so there are no right or wrong answers. Sessions can be run with a small group or one-to-one with a carer or family member.
- One-to-one reminiscence: Use the cards as a structured prompt during individual sessions, working through a single life stage at a time rather than playing the full game.
- Small group play: Run the game at an activity table with a small group, encouraging residents to respond to each other’s stories as well as their own.
- Family visit activity: Set up the game during family visits to give relatives a natural way to connect and hear stories they may not have heard before.
- Life history support: Use responses from the cards to contribute to a resident’s life history or personal profile documentation.
- Intergenerational sessions: Bring the game into intergenerational programs where younger visitors and older residents can share and compare life experiences.
